Grammy-Nominated and Broadway actress Ashley Támar is releasing her fifth independent album and launching her new sounds in Memphis, TN. For the first time, audiences will hear untold stories about her resilient journey working with some of the best in the business, and you will get to hear some of her new music from her upcoming album.


Ashley Támar, known as the muse & protégé of Prince, gained notoriety for co-writing their Grammy-nominated duet “Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed.” A Hollywood Music in Media Award Recipient for Best New Song in New Media, Ms. Davis is currently on tour with the Stewart Copeland Orchestra and is a featured soloist on the “Police Deranged for Orchestra” album and a composer of original songs for Disney. Adding to her jaw-dropping career, Ashley’s versatility translates to behind-the-scenes as a Music Supervisor for various television/film projects: “Ladies First: The Women in Hip Hop” (NETFLIX), “Trap Jazz” (HULU), “Cherish the Day” (Season II/OWN), “That Damn Michael Che,” (HBO MAX), and more. Ashley has graced the Walt Disney Hall stage with the LA Philharmonic, guest-starred in “Chippendales” (HULU) and “BRUH” (BET+), and has received raved reviews in Broadway classics: “Ain’t Misbehavin,” “Motown the Musical,” and “A Night with Janis Joplin.” An alum of the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and author of “100 Things to Know as an Independent Music Artist,” Ashley has released four albums, displayed jaw-dropping performances on NBC’s “The Voice,” and is internationally recognized for her tear-jerking performances in numerous Tyler Perry/Lionsgate productions. Though music is a conduit for reaching people through song, Ashley Támar has successfully initiated various community initiatives: The Syren Arts Academy, the College, Career, and Empowerment Summit, the Támar Talks Podcast, and DocFest. Ashley has also been seen on Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live, the NAACP Image Awards, and the BRIT Awards, with features in Glamour, Billboard, PEOPLE, and VIBE magazines.

Yubu and the Ancient Youth is a unique assortment of musicians with experience in different music genres and cultures in America, East Africa, West Africa and Europe. The band has found a home in Memphis Tennessee, the home of the blues, where they develop, create and perform a tasteful spin of blues music.

Yubu’s style can be defined as fresh, nostalgic and electrifying — fusing bluesrock, funk, afrobeat, and reggae, into an ear friendly listening experience.
