Many people assume that the role of a producer is only about finding money and selling a film. But what does it mean to be a creative producer? Join Indie Memphis & Crosstown Arts in a conversation with producers Tracee Comfort and Princeton Echols to find out why producing is one of the more misunderstood but creatively fulfilling roles in production.

Topics will include how to manage a production, casting, story and script development, working with a director, and much more.

Free and open to the public
Doors at 6:30 pm | Presentation at 7 pm

This Shoot & Splice is presented by Indie Memphis, Crosstown Arts, and the Black Creators Forum at the Indie Memphis Film Festival. The heart of the Black Creators Forum is a two-day symposium of panels, discussions, and workshops for black filmmakers, scholars, and critics. The goal is to ease the barrier of entry for black artists who would like to work in film. The Forum also supports screenings, meet-ups, and artist support programs throughout the year, including a free-for-all Pitch Rally during the festival.
