Rescue Animals is a sextet comprised of some of Memphis’ finest musicians: Scott Thompson, trumpet; Art Edmaiston, sax; Pee Wee Jackson, drums; Joe Restivo, guitar; Paul Taylor, bass; Pat Fusco, keys.
Rescue Animals mixes influences from Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Willie Mitchell, Jaco Pastorius, and other shared musical heroes in an improvisational setting, incorporating a “straight ahead” vocabulary into the harmonies and rhythms of R&B, Soul, Latin and Gospel music.
