Last year’s Indie Memphis festival winner for Best Documentary Feature was Cane Fire, a film that makes brilliant use of archival footage to illustrate and explore labor exploitation and inequality in Hawaii. Join Cane Fire director Anthony Banua-Simon and executive producer Steve Holmgren to talk about their use of archival footage in the film, securing rights to archival footage, ways to find archival footage, and the various creative processes filmmakers use when working with archival footage. |
