    Walking Tall fictionalizes Buford Puser’s journey from bear wrestler to one-man crime crusader. Starring character actor Jo Don Baker (Joysticks and Fletch) as Buford Pusser and Elizabeth Hartman (A Patch of Blue and The Secret of NIMH) as his wife Pauline, plus Lief Garrett (Macon Count Line, Walking Tall Part II, Final Chapter: Walking Tall, Tiger Beat Cover Model) and Lief’s real-life sister Dawn Lyn as the Pusser kids!

    The Crosstown Arthouse Film Series showcases a diverse collection of independent, international, historically significant, artistic, experimental, cult, underground and documentary features.

    Join us in The Green Room at Crosstown Arts for a performance by U.S. Girls. The highly anticipated seventh album by U.S. Girls, the protean musical enterprise of multi-disciplinary artist Meg Remy, is entitled Heavy Light. While Remy has been widely acclaimed for a panoply of closely observed character studies, on Heavy Light she turns inward, recounting personal narratives to create a deeply introspective about-face.

    Join us in The Green Room at Crosstown Arts for a performance by Mississippi bluesman Willie Farmer, with an opening set by Tim Easton. Willie Farmer is living proof that Mississippi continues to produce deep blues. The 63-year-old guitarist is neither a soul modernist nor revivalist, but simply a small-town auto mechanic who’s never shaken his love for old school legends like Muddy, Wolf, and Lightnin’.

    Join us for a virtual chat with film editors Eileen Meyer (CRIP CAMP) and Michael Taylor (THE FAREWELL), moderated by filmmaker Laura Jean Hocking. They will discuss several topics including: working with a director, workflow preferences, creative techniques, and more. This is your chance to learn from some of the best independent editors in both narrative and documentary film.

    Shoot & Splice is a FREE filmmaker forum presented by Crosstown Arts and Indie Memphis, featuring a wide variety of technical, educational, and unique topics of interest to the Memphis filmmaking community.

    Crosstown Arts, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) present the 7th annual Art of Science exhibition.

    Local artists are paired up with medical research scientists and doctors from across Memphis. Together, scientists and artists create work that introduces new audiences to the science that is saving children’s lives everyday in Memphis.

    Named after the infamous South Louisiana swamp rat, Nutria performs original contemporary jazz music with an emphasis on collective improvisation. Their compositional and improvisational practice at once pushes at the boundaries of instrumental music in the 21st century and situates the music within the lineage of New Orleans jazz and groove traditions.
