    Come enjoy "Phineas and the Fantastic Fairy Tale Factory," an original children's story featuring audience participation and musical accompaniment by members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

    Created by MSO principal oboist Joseph Salvalaggio, Babu Press performances use classical music to help kids develop an appreciation for the arts and foster a love of reading. The performances are entertaining for audiences of all ages, from toddlers to adults. 

    This performance features MSO musicians Barrie Cooper (violin), Susanna Whitney (bassoon), and Joseph Salvalaggio (oboe) and narrated by Todd Berry.

    Soldering is at the core of every electronics project. In this class, participants will learn how to solder a point-to-point LED flashlight/stationary lamp. Instructors Gino and Diana Barzizza will show you tips and tricks to get you started on your journey into DIY electronics. Class includes introduction to electrical theory and hands-on building of a LED flash circuit using capacitors, resistors, integrated circuits (IC), switches, LEDs and batteries. In the world of DIY electronics there is always something more to learn. This class is the first in a series in which you can build your skills and knowledge of electronics fabrication.

Learn the basics of editing, and take your photography to the next level in this one-hour workshop.

    What is a pixel? What is a vector? Where does one start when making art in photoshop? Instructor and School of Visual Arts MFA Gino Barzizza will explain the in-depth world of digital art production.

    Gino will walk you through his method influenced by comic book production and traditional animation techniques. The class will include How to Get Started, Tools, Importing Images into Photoshop, Layers and Layer Properties, Pixel vs. Vector, Printing, and Line Art Coloring ... Gino style.

    Join Memphis Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Barrie Cooper and pianist Brian Ray of Rhodes College for the first Spotlight Concert Series performance. The Spanish-themed program features works by Joaquín Turina, Eugène Ysaÿe, and more.

    Spotlight Concert Series showcases members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra in the intimate Green Room at Crosstown Arts. The series provides the Memphis community the opportunity to get to know and learn more about the talented musicians that make up the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Each month will feature a different musician or small chamber group as soloist or featured ensemble.

  • Open Crit

    Crosstown Arts’ Open Crit series is a monthly critique event where visual artists are invited to bring new and/or in-progress studio work for critical feedback and group discussion particular to each artist’s practice. All sessions are free and open to the public. Special thanks to Art Center for donating a $25 gift certificate for each participating artist.

Please come and bring a flash drive of images, web-link, or actual prints to talk about. We will share our failures and success.

    Seed Space + Delta Axis present: Kenturah Davis + Desmond Lewis

    Memphis artist Desmond Lewis and Kenturah Davis (an artist working between Los Angeles, New Haven, and Accra, Ghana) were selected by Delta Axis and Locate Arts/Seed Space to exhibit their work together based on their innovative sensitivity to material, their exploration of social and relational content, and the critical acclaim associated with their work.
