Memphis Gives Music Fest
Join us for the first annual Memphis Music Gives Fest — a benefit concert showcasing Memphis music talent. Seventy-five percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis.
Featuring music by Austin Blue, the PRVLG, Sky King, Good Bueno, and Houstn.
Vendors: Gypsy Apparel, Contact Skateshop (Fluxus), and Odd Collar Magazine. -
The Music of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers: The Early Years
Crosstown Arts Galleries 1350 Concourse Ave., Suite 280, Memphis, TN, United StatesJazz performance featuring Stephen Lee (piano), Johnny Yancey (trumpet), John Birdsong (acoustic bass), and Renardo Ward (drums).
The Crosstown Jazz Series, presented by Strictly Jazz Entertainment in collaboration with Crosstown Arts, is designed to salute classic jazz music as contemporary musicians perform the work of the legends.

Indie Wednesday Film Series
Weekly film screenings hosted by Indie Memphis. Films will screen at Crosstown Arts, Malco’s Studio on the Square, and Ridgeway Theatre on a rotating basis.

Shoot & Splice: For The Love of Cinema with Rashna Richards
Monthly filmmaking forum presented by Indie Memphis and Crosstown Arts.
Rashna Richards will discuss what it means to teach Film and Media Studies in the twenty-first century. The first part of her talk will be based on her recent co-edited collection, For the Love of Cinema: Teaching Our Passion in and Outside the Classroom, which offers multiple ways to think about the relationship between the love of cinema and teaching. In the second half, she will expand this discussion by offering examples of her own teaching at Rhodes College and speaking more broadly about the role of film education.
