    Crosstown Arts’ Open Crit series, organized in partnership with ArtsMemphis, is a monthly critique event where visual artists are invited to bring new and/or in-progress studio work for critical feedback and group discussion particular to each artist’s practice. All sessions are free and open to the public.

    August topic: "XX TCB: Producing in Memphis (and Beyond)," a discussion with producers Erin Hagee Freeman, Kim Bledsoe Lloyd, Dreka Shevon, and Melissa Anderson Sweazy. Moderated by Joann Self Selvidge.

  • Hustle : eltsuH

    Hustle: professional development for artists is a free program organized by ArtsMemphis, UrbanArt Commission, and Crosstown Arts. The series will provide visual artists with information, resources, and opportunities to support them in the development of their professional careers.

  • Indie Wednesday Film Series

    Weekly film screenings hosted by Indie Memphis. Films will screen at Crosstown Arts, Malco’s Studio on the Square, and Ridgeway Theatre on a rotating basis.

    This week: Romeo is Bleeding — A young poet transcends turf war violence in Richmond, CA by creating an urban adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

    Performances by James Onyx Casher, Lauren Laux, Tsu Lu, JRan, ISpeakWithaGift, Godbody Jones, Svmdvde, and Early. Pop-up shop by Giovante.

  • Crosstown Concourse Opening Day Celebration

    Crosstown Concourse 1350 Concourse Ave., Memphis, TN

    Join us for the opening celebration of Crosstown Concourse, scheduled nearly 90 years to the day of the original Sears Crosstown grand opening in August 1927. This celebration of history and rebirth will showcase the organizations and businesses that courageously believed in and dedicated themselves to the creation of this one-of-a-kind vertical urban village. A full schedule of events will be released soon, but expect great food, live music, dance performances, art exhibitions, a Concourse documentary screening, tenant open houses, and more.

  • Potluck

    East Atrium, Crosstown Concourse 1350 Concourse Ave., Memphis, TN, United States

    Collaborative exhibition of place setting-inspired art. At a typical potluck, individuals are asked to contribute a shared food item. But in this case, individuals were invited to bring to the table their individual interpretation of a meal’s structural elements: a place setting. Altogether, these unique place settings create a large-scale collaborative table-top installation, a collective visual feast.

  • MadAir Decks Exhibition

    Third annual exhibition of skateboard artwork featuring more than 50 longboard and skateboard decks designed by 30 Memphis-based artists. Works will be on display and for sale. MadAir merchandise will also be sold.
