Experience the vibrant spirit of Latin America through an intimate evening of piano trio chamber music filled with rhythm, passion, and beauty. From lively dances and expressive melodies to the unmistakable energy of tango, be transported through the many moods of Latin American music.

Featuring works by Jose Elizondo, Heitor Villa-Lobos & more, the evening culminates in Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires—a dazzling and evocative musical portrait of the city.

Iris Collective is a Memphis-based ensemble of professional musicians and teaching artists committed to using music as a tool for storytelling, connection, and community transformation. Working at the intersections of music and education, music and healthcare, and music and community building, Iris Collective is helping people connect and grow by amplifying music’s power to educate, heal, and bring people together—turning every performance into a shared, meaningful experience.


Brazilian violinist Samuel Rolim is currently working towards a DMA degree at West Virginia University under the guidance of Professor Mary Grace Johnson. In 2017, Samuel Rolim graduated with honors from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he studied under the guidance of Dr. Shannon Thomas and Dr. Stephen Redfield. In 2019, he received his Masters of Music degree from Texas Christian University. An avid chamber musician, he has also performed in master classes and played alongside members of the Aeolus, American, Ariel, Borodin, Borromeo, Brentano, Cleveland, Dali, Latinoamericano, Miró, Pacifica, and Tokyo Quartets. Samuel is also very passionate about teaching. Besides his private teaching activities, he has been a strings coach at both Kids and Youth Southern Mississippi orchestras, as well as at Festival South Orchestral Academy in Hattiesburg, MS and the B Sharp Youth Music Program in Fort Worth, TX. Samuel is the violin Iris Artist Fellow for Iris Collective.


Born in Huanuco-Peru, Alvaro Miranda started his cello studies at the age of fourteen in his home city’s youth symphony orchestra. In 2013 Mr. Miranda was accepted at the National Conservatory of Peru for the preparatory studies section where he studied with cellist Sammanda Siguenas. Later, in 2015 he was awarded a full scholarship to study at The University of Southern Mississippi school of music. Alvaro graduated with his bachelor’s degree in music performance in 2021 and continued his education pursuing a Master’s in music performance degree at The University of Texas at Austin. Alvaro is a DMA cello candidate and Graduate Teaching assistant at The University of Alabama School of Music in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he studies with cellist Moises Molina. Likewise, he is a member of the Capstone String quartet, the student quartet in residence of the University of Alabama.

While working on his master’s degree, Alvaro was part of the faculty from the University of Texas at Austin String Project from 2021 to 2023. Also, he has served as a cello faculty for the Austin Chamber Music Camp during its 2022 summer season. Currently, he teaches undergraduate and non-major cello students from the University of Alabama school of music. Alvaro is the cello Iris Artist Fellow for Iris Collective.
