Family Crest Workshop

What makes your family special? Tell the story of your family by creating a hand-sewn crest. Family groups will work together to design and stitch a one-of-a-kind appliquéd wall hanging. Family groups can be up to 6 people and must include at least 1 adult. All materials will be provided and no prior sewing experience is needed.

Amie Petronis Plumley is the co-author of Sewing School:  21 Sewing Projects Kids Will Love to Make and School 2:  Lessons in Machine Sewing, Sewing School Quilts, and the upcoming Sewing School Fashion Design published by Storey Publishing. The books sell worldwide and have a combined total of more than 150,000 copies in print. Amie is an elementary school teacher at Grace-St Luke’s Episcopal School in Memphis, TN where she inspires students to sew in the classroom, in an after-school sewing club, and at a wildly popular summer sewing camp. 

This event is in conjunction with Stitched: Celebrating the Art of Quilting — a festival at Crosstown Arts with art exhibitions, public quilting workshops, and a Gathering of the Guilds showcase. Stitched runs from May 10-July 28, 2019.
