Alice Hasen’s “Fiddle Christmas”

Join Alice Hasen and friends for Memphis’ first-ever Fiddle Christmas, a special evening celebrating the magic of the holidays, fiddle-style! Highlighting Bluegrass, jazz and folk traditions, the night will feature a snowstorm of seasonal classics and a flurry of originals. Special guests and singalongs will send you home humming and in the holiday spirit.

Alice Hasen has made a name for herself in Memphis and the Mid-South for her unique fiddle style combining intensely emotional improv with classical virtuosity. Her “fiddle-powered groove band,” Alice Hasen and the Blaze, plays a unique blend of rock, folk, roots and jazz but often strays into classical and experimental territory. In addition to leading the band on her original songs, Alice also collaborates with local and national artists, including country music legend Radney Foster, indie folk artist Valerie June and rock’n roll pianist Jason D. Williams. In the words of Radney Foster, “Alice’s timing, soul and intonation are impeccable. Plus, she lights up the stage like a Roman candle.” Alice has also shared the stage with Ani DiFranco and Yo-Yo Ma.
