Celebrate the season with an unforgettable evening of authentic Memphis gospel as Elizabeth King and The Jubilee Hummingbirds take the stage for a powerful night of sacred soul, jubilant harmonies, and uplifting music, with an opening performance by The Mountain Man.
Founded in the 1940s by Clarence Johnson, The Jubilee Hummingbirds are one of Memphis’s longest-running gospel groups. With a sound rooted in the city’s rich musical heritage, their energetic jubilee style has inspired generations. Early members included future soul legends James Carr and O.V. Wright, and today, under the leadership of William “Redd” Watson, the group continues to carry its timeless tradition forward with passion, spirit, and joy.
Joining them is Elizabeth King, a celebrated voice of Memphis sacred soul whose musical journey began in the 1960s. Known for her resonant contralto and unwavering devotion, King has spent decades moving congregations and audiences alike with songs of faith, perseverance, and praise.
This Christmas season, experience the soul-stirring power of gospel music in an intimate celebration of faith, tradition, and community. From heartfelt testimony to exuberant jubilee harmonies, Gospel in the Green Room brings the soul of Memphis to the stage for a night that will lift your spirits and warm your heart.
Come feel the spirit, celebrate the season, and experience the soul of sound at the Crosstown!
