JAMILLE “JAM” HUNTER

Jamille “Jam” Hunter is a Michigan-born, Memphis-based jazz and soul singer-songwriter, renowned for her mesmerizing vocals and contemporary approach to both classic and modern jazz. Her journey began with classical training and years of performing in the R&B and Soul circuit, before intensively studying jazz in Los Angeles at the World Stage of Leimert Park under mentors such as Billy Higgins, Al McKibbon, Kevin O’Neal, and Dini Clarke. Seeking to broaden her horizons, Hunter took on the role of lead vocalist at the Stardust Jazz Lounge in Nagoya, Japan, refining her craft for international audiences.

Hunter’s discography includes the recent live CD/DVD “Sassy’s Return: The SV Project,” as well as previous releases such as “In The Sun” and singles “Blue Moon” and “You Got Me,” all showcasing her talents as both songwriter and co-producer. She fronts her own band, Mood Swing, and has captivated audiences at the River Arts Fest, On Location International Film and Music Festival, Black Arts Fest, Memphis International Jazz Festival, and the Soulsville Music Fest, among many clubs and venues. She recently completed a month long run of the musical Blues In the Night in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Her upcoming performance promises an innovative blend of house grooves and soulful vocals, brought to life through her signature fusion of live band energy and jazz artistry. Hunter’s dedication to her craft and history of international performance ensure this event will be a compelling musical experience
