Andy James is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and songwriter whose music bridges jazz, blues, and roots traditions with striking elegance and emotional depth. After a celebrated 20-year career as a flamenco dancer based in Madrid—touring globally with legends including Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo, Ramón Jiménez, and Paco de Lucía—James transitioned into jazz, bringing her innate rhythmic mastery and expressive artistry to song.
Since her 2018 debut Caravan, James has released nine studio albums, culminating in The Architect of My Blues (2025), a Nashville-recorded project inspired by Ray Charles’ genre-blending legacy. Featuring an all-star ensemble including Jon Cowherd, Vinnie Colaiuta, John Patitucci, James Genus, Nicholas Payton, and Greg Leisz, the album blends jazz, soul, country, and blues through intimate, swinging originals co-written with top Music City songwriters. Raised in Melbourne by a flamenco-loving father and jazz-singer mother, James brings a lifetime of global influence to a voice that is both timeless and unmistakably her own.
