Indie Wednesday Film Series

Weekly film screenings hosted by Indie Memphis. Films will screen at Crosstown Arts, Malco’s Studio on the Square, and Ridgeway Theatre on a rotating basis.

This week: Shake ‘Em on Down — The story of Mississippi Fred McDowell, the godfather of the North Mississippi style of blues. The film will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Joe York and Scott Barretta.

This month: Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour
The 2017 program offers audiences a taste of Sundance, from laugh-out-loud comedy to contemplative reflections of the world we live in.

Two screenings: 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) & 9 pm (doors open at 8:45 pm). Seating is limited. Admission is pay-what-you-can.


The 2017 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour is a 95-minute theatrical program of seven short films selected from this year’s festival, widely considered the premier showcase for short films and the launchpad for many now-prominent independent filmmakers for more than 30 years. Including fiction, documentary, and animation from around the world, the 2017 program offers new audiences a taste of what the festival offers, from laugh-out-loud comedy to contemplative reflections of the world we live in.

People who have never been up a 10-meter diving tower must choose whether to jump or climb down in this entertaining study of people in a vulnerable position (In Swedish with English subtitles).
