Can I see the space before I join?
Drop in during open hours for a tour. No appointment is necessary, but if you’d prefer to schedule a tour, email shared@crosstownarts.org.
What equipment do you offer?
Please check out the full list on our Equipment, Spaces, & Resources page.
Who can join? Do you need prior art experience?
Anyone aged 18 or older may join. No experience is required, but you must be willing to learn how to use the equipment on your own.
What if I don’t know how to use the equipment?
We will provide an orientation on how the equipment functions, but you are responsible for learning how to use the equipment on your own. If you need training, we can connect you with private tutors, but they will charge a fee. We will also hold occasional classes and workshops on how to use the equipment at a discounted cost to members (full price for non-members). You can also opt to learn on your own through Crosstown Arts’ Lynda.com account or on YouTube.
What if you’re a member and want to teach classes to other members?
Becoming a member puts you on our list to teach classes or become a tutor, both of which offer opportunities for you to make extra money. Please see the Workshops & Classes page for details on how to propose a workshop. Members chose what fees to charge for their workshops and can easily cover the cost of monthly membership through teaching/tutoring other members.
