creative writing, film

Xavier Neal-Burgin is a writer/director and alumni of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. His film On Time was a finalist in the ABFF HBO Short Film Competition and was a semi-finalist for the Student Academy Awards.

“I consider myself a Mississippi native but was also raised in Alabama, Washington DC, and Los Angeles.  This allowed me to experience the duality of life in a rural landscape and a suburban mecca.  During my undergraduate years, I found my passion for writing and directing, specifically to foster social justice within communities of the underrepresented and oppressed, using both drama and comedy.”
