Valerie Houston

Valerie Houston, the founder of L’mand Ministries Inc., a non-profit that employs art education to combat recidivism, is a playwright, actress, composer, singer and activist. With a degree from the University of Memphis in Professional Studies, Valerie is currently completing her Master of Divinity at Memphis Theological Seminary. She uses the arts to teach state-mandated disciplines to students throughout Tennessee, often using her own work including her play Madam C.J. Walker, the Miracle Hair Grower, which is listed on the Tennessee Arts Commission roster.
