Taylor Crawford

Taylor Crawford is a Memphis born screenwriter, producer, essayist, and film academic who explores the nuances of her identity as a Black southern woman through the lens of critical studies and screenwriting. She made her directorial debut at 20 years old with her short film Your Stuff, and followed up with her 2022 award winning short Coalescent. Her work aims to combine her love for history, literature, and critical studies through thought provoking and engaging projects whether it be films, scripts, essays, or even multimedia projects. Taylor holds fast to her creative proverb that Black characters deserve to exist in fictionalized realities they haven’t had the chance to explore.

Taylor is a recent graduate of The University of Southern California where she studied Cinema and Media Studies with a minor in Screenwriting, and will be pursuing an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the Fall of 2023.
