Lisa M. Williamson
Lisa Williamson is Memphis-based multi-disciplinary artist. She received her BFA and MFA from the Memphis College of Art, and her PhD from the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts. She teaches Foundations at the University of Memphis.
“I am currently exploring infinite energy and movement, and the shapes that leave evidence of currency exchanges. I am interested in line and marks, and the space between objects rather than objects themselves. The two recurring images in my work are waves and grids, which I think are about capturing a moment in flux. Some of the words that loop in my brain while I work are continuation, disintegration, and regeneration.”
