Dr. Artika R. Tyner

As a visual artist, Dr. Artika R. Tyner focuses on cultural preservation, racial justice, and healing through her photography and literary works. She uses her artistic talent to showcase the beauty of Mama Africa and honor the rich cultural heritage of the African Diaspora. Each piece provides a glimpse of the past, present, and future. She also explores the foundational principles of Afro-futurism through her artistry: I WAS, I AM, and I WILL BE.
