Doter Sweetly
Doter Sweetly spawned on the muddy banks of the Mississippi River
during the Great Panic of 1873. After clawing his way up the Chickasaw
Bluff, he took his first steps on the ground that would later be home to
the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee.
By the late 2010s, Sweetly had becomeĀ
nearly indistinguishable from a normal human man andĀ
assumed the alias Elijah Poston. In 2016 Sweetly released his
debut album Songs for a Recent Lover, followed up two years later by
his sophomore album Grandpa Grew Trees. Using his skills for
mentalism and illusion, Sweetly has cultivated a reputation as a multi-
instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Known for his
heartfelt songs and inimitable vibe, Sweetly has built a
dedicated following with his previous two albums and his dark work
with the underground electropunk band, General Labor. Through
meticulous alchemical rituals, his music continues to captivate
audiences with its emotional depth and innovative, oftentimes
devastating arrangements.
