Clarisse Baleja Saïdi

Clarisse Baleja Saïdi is an award-winning writer based in Toronto. She is Ivoirian-born, of Rwandan and Congolese descent, and a dual Ugandan and Canadian national. Baleja writes of home(s) and faithfulness, of the personal and the political. She earned her M.F.A. from the Helen Zell Writers Program and is at work on her first novel, the story of a family’s personal tragedy alongside a nation’s disintegration.
