Crosstown Theater
Crosstown Theater, a 417-seat black box theater, hosts programming as well as events organized by performing arts/music/film groups and organizations across the city.
Specific physical accommodations include a sprung wood floor stage, modular open floor, and retractable seating. The performance space can transform completely from an open room with 5,000 square feet of flat floor to proscenium, thrust, box, or theater-in-the-round, in a matter of hours. The theater accommodates 800 standing, 417 in theater style rows, and 250 in banquet style seating.
Highly considered acoustic treatments, state-of-the-art lighting, and a premiere sound system offer an ideal and intimate space for musical performances ranging from national headliners to Memphis-based musicians.
A state-of-the-art Digital Cinema Package (DCP) projection system, paired with an automated retractable 19’x36′ Strong MDI Strongview projection screen, offers Memphis’ film community a new venue to experience international and nationally acclaimed art house films, as well as work from Memphis-based filmmakers.
