Step into a mystical evening with Grammy®-nominated pianist and composer Romain Collin, who’ll present music from his latest solo piano record, DUST (Edition Records/ E2). Collin will perform original compositions, as well as, curated pop covers on a Steinway Grand piano and a gorgeous pump organ, layered with ethereal textures from ambient modular synths. The French-born, New York-based pianist brings his nuanced approach to solo piano, crafting a work that’s equal parts intimate and expansive. Join us in this low-lit, easy haven: sprawl on a couch, nurse a drink and let the music pull you into its magic. This is a chance to breathe, let go and recharge.
Romain Collin (@romain__collin) has been praised by NPR as a “visionary composer” and hailed by the Boston Globe as one of the “leading lights of a new breed of jazz players.” The French-American musician has developed “a highly personal and contemporary vision” (A Blog Supreme, NPR), a style “unique and engaging without obvious influences” (All About Jazz) that seamlessly blends contemporary jazz, classical music and sound design. Collin has recorded/ performed alongside luminaries like Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Frisell, Gregory Porter, Terence Blanchard and Wayne Shorter. He is currently touring solo in support of DUST, as well as with other projects as a co-leader.
