Works by Nate Renner

Re-Collections reflects Renner’s memories of summers spent in Carlisle, Arkansas with his paternal grandmother. The rural sharecropper’s house where she lived and the commercial products she used inspire Renner’s most vivid memories. Repetition in screen printing engrains memory in the mind, gray-scale associates “black and white” with the finality of the past, and the line paintings support reflection. Re-Collections transforms ephemeral memory into tangible history.
