    Join Crosstown Arts and Indie Memphis for an evening with our new Memphis-based Brazilian filmmaker, cinematographer, and colorist Ivan Rodrigues.

    Ivan will discuss several aspects of filmmaking from an unique perspective of having worked in Brazil, Los Angeles, and now Memphis. He will also share his secrets on how to simulate a "film look" in digital cameras, why film is actually dead, and how to produce a high-quality image when operating with a low budget.

    Shoot & Splice is a monthly forum for filmmakers presented collaboratively by Crosstown Arts & Indie Memphis.

    Opening reception for a regional quilt challenge in conjunction with Stitched: The Art of Quilting. Artists were asked to design traditional, modern or art-focused quilts.

    These range from appliquéd, pieced, collaged, fused, engineered, hand- or machine-stitched, 3-D, painted, sculpted, and any variation in between. The only thing they have in common: 3 layers and stitching.

    As an Alabama native and former Memphian (now living in Nashville), Will Kimbrough zig-zags the world singing songs and playing guitars, often solo, but also in many other collaborations. Kimbrough is a former member of Todd Snider and The Nervous Wrecks. His most recent solo recording, “I like it Down Here" is his 9th solo release since 2000. Opening act: Jeremy Stanfill
