  • Indie Wednesday Film Series

    Weekly film screenings hosted by Indie Memphis. Films will screen at Crosstown Arts, Malco’s Studio on the Square, and Ridgeway Theatre on a rotating basis.

    This week: Saturday Church — A 14 year-old-boy, struggling with gender identity and religion, begins to use fantasy to escape his life in the inner city and find his passion in the process. 2017 Jury and Audience Winner at Outflix Film Festival.

  • Anti-Twilight Dark Band

    An evening of ambient improvisation with Jimmy Crosthwait and Greg Faiers. Anti-Twilight Dark Band: The intersection of ambient music, jazz and improvisation. The Anti-Twilight Dark Band features Jimmy Crosthwait on zen chimes and Greg Faiers playing heavily processed guitar.   • Cellular Structure

    Artist Yvonne Bobo will construct a 28-foot-by-16-foot sculpture inside the 430 N. Cleveland gallery space. A series of pulleys will create a floating twist. The public is invited to watch from 4-5:30 pm. Free.

  • Shoot & Splice: For The Love of Cinema with Rashna Richards

    Monthly filmmaking forum presented by Indie Memphis and Crosstown Arts.

    Rashna Richards will discuss what it means to teach Film and Media Studies in the twenty-first century. The first part of her talk will be based on her recent co-edited collection, For the Love of Cinema: Teaching Our Passion in and Outside the Classroom, which offers multiple ways to think about the relationship between the love of cinema and teaching. In the second half, she will expand this discussion by offering examples of her own teaching at Rhodes College and speaking more broadly about the role of film education.

  • Indie Wednesdays: International Shorts

    The Art of Design is an art and fashion exhibition highlighting the inspiration and process of creating original works from concept to creation. The exhibition focuses on growing influential factors, such as culture, technology, and social media, and their effect on fashion, music, and art. Come experience the arts as you never have before. 

  • Open Crit

    Crosstown Arts’ Open Crit series, organized in partnership with ArtsMemphis, is a monthly critique event where visual artists are invited to bring new and/or in-progress studio work for critical feedback and group discussion particular to each artist’s practice. All sessions are free and open to the public.

  • Indie Wednesdays: The Road Movie

    Screening of The Road Movie — A mosaic of asphalt adventures, landscape photography, and some of the craziest sh*t you’ve ever seen, through a compilation of video footage shot exclusively via dashboard cameras that populate Russian roads. Presented by Indie Memphis. Pay what you can.

    Group art exhibition presented by artist Kelvin Woods in honor of Black History Month. Featured artists include Kelvin Woods, Eso Tolson, and Carl Hess.
