    Crosstown Arts with Madjack Records presents a special record release show with Jed Zimmerman, Mark Edgar Stuart, and other special guests. Originally from Memphis, Jed began playing music and found his mentor, Keith Sykes. For a number of years, Zimmerman and Kelley Mickwee played music and toured together. Sykes was instrumental in recording their music, and the two released three records while they were the duo Jed and Kelley. Eventually he landed in Texas where he got to personally hear and meet the likes of Guy Clark, Joe Ely, Rodney Crowell, and John Prine, all of which are major influences on his songwriting to this day. Jed then spent a good period of time living in Taos and Red River, New Mexico, where his songwriting was heavily influenced from the people and landscape of the southwest.

    Jed will celebrate the release of his new album "Below The Blooms" with an intimate acoustic set in his former hometown of Memphis.

    Crosstown Arts presents the Dubois-Yao Duo for a performance titled Adoration - Music of The Americas. Featuring works for viola and piano by Florence Price, Samuel Coleridge Taylor, Astor Piazzolla, and more. The program features works from Dubois-Yao Duo's new album "Adoration - Music of the Americas," which will be released on October 20 on Spice Classical Records, Boston.

    Crosstown Arts presents Spree Wilson in The Green Room in a special performance featuring a string quartet composed of musicians of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. MSO musicians Marisa Polesky, Yennifer Correia, Hannah Whitehouse, and Estefan Perez will join Spree on stage for several songs arranged just for this performance.

    Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Spree Wilson’s approach to music has always been driven by his boundless creativity and vision. The singer-songwriter began his musical journey at home, with a father who sang and toured in a doo-wop group called The Blue Shirts and a mother who kept artists like Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Minnie Ripperton, and Whitney Houston in constant rotation. Those early influences would become his musical foundation, the bedrock for a career that would lead to him meeting and working with two giants of popular music: his mentor Dallas Austin and legendary rapper/producer Q-Tip.

    Crosstown Arts presents Memphis-based guitarist/vocalist Steve Selvidge in The Green Room.
    Co-founder of 1990s-era psychedelic-funk group Big Ass Truck, Steve is known for his virtuosity on the guitar, his voice, and his ability to fully engage an audience, whether he’s playing blistering rock guitar solos at sold-out concerts on big stages or singing folk blues favorites in a tiny, packed bar in Memphis. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and on late-night shows with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jools Holland. As a touring musician for the past 25 years, he’s played across the United States, Europe, and Australia. As a session musician, he’s played guitar on more than 60 albums.

    He is currently a member of the Brooklyn based group The Hold Steady.

    Frog Squad performs a special show featuring their interpretation of works by composer Erik Satie on November 4th at Crosstown Arts.
    Frog Squad is an outlet for creative expression and sound exploration based in Memphis, TN. Their songs pull heavily on improvisation within loose structures, creating a psychedelic, avant-garde, jazz sound.
