    Location: Screening Room, plus pop-out film panels in the East Atrium
    Point in Time presents sixteen of Brown’s minimalist videos made within the past seven years. Brown makes videos based on pregnant moments observed in her everyday life. Her filmmaking background informs the techniques used to build and sustain a sense of anticipation while emphasizing the passage of time.

  • 901 Ringers Handbell Choir

    Performance of holiday music and carols by the 901 Ringers Handbell Choir.

    With up to 12 ringers, this seasoned group of musicians can perform both religious and secular pieces. Unlike an orchestra or choir in which each musician is responsible for one line of the texture, a handbell ensemble acts as one instrument, with each musician responsible for particular notes, sounding his or her assigned bells whenever that note appears in the music.

    Join filmmakers Jon Crawford and Brett Hanover as they discuss their process of making hybrid films, and how blending narrative and documentary elements can often make for more incisive and truthful work. This discussion will be moderated by filmmaker Laura Jean Hocking.

Jones has found success in creating the animated viral web series hit "Junt Land," as well as her live action comedic shorts on modern dating and relationships. She'll discuss how she went from sharing her first video online to taking calls and meetings from Hollywood executives.

The Crosstown Jazz Series, presented by Strictly Jazz Entertainment in collaboration with Crosstown Arts, is designed to salute classic jazz music as contemporary musicians perform the work of the legends.
