Nine rising artists will display their work and share the motivation behind their pieces.
This semester, the students created work addressing the topic of intersectionality — a term used to describe the overlapping or intersecting social identities and related systems of oppression, domination, or discrimination. Students were asked to embrace their differences or question their oppression. Issues they face vary from racism to islamophobia to cyberbullying and so many others.
The students in ArtRevival went through a series of workshops to develop their art skills and expand their awareness on community issues. Additionally, work along a similar theme by other community artists will be on display.
Enjoy the art, listen to the voiceless, donate to the organization, eat great food, and have fun! It’s free!
