SUMMARY:The Mystic
DESCRIPTION:So\, what is The Mystic? The Mystic is a catalyst; through music\, story\, silence and dialogue\, we hope to strengthen our attachment to hopes and dreams. In the mystic\, diversity is a prerequisite for all creativity\, which is why Crosstown Concourse is the perfect home. In The Mystic\, the world is far-better served by different beliefs than it could ever be if limited by rigid uniformity. \nAnd if this doesn’t rock your gypsy soul\, the goal of The Mystic is to not feel better but get better at feeling.

SUMMARY:Folk All Y'all: Jessye DeSilva
DESCRIPTION:Folk All Y’all Presents: Jessye DeSilva\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts\nSaturday\, July 11\, 2026\nDoors open at 7:00 pm | Show starts at 7:30 pm\n$20 (plus fees) Tickets\nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE\nBoston-based singer-songwriter Jessye DeSilva (she/her) has been releasing music and touring nationally since 2019\, earning praise from No Depression\, Rolling Stone\, and The Boot. Known for blending Americana roots with expansive\, genre-defying songwriting\, she has shared stages with Lisa Loeb\, Adeem the Artist\, and Brian Dunne\, performed at AmericanaFest\, and collaborated with artists including Jake Blount and Butch Walker. \nShe infuses hope into songs about religious alienation\, mental health struggles\, and societal injustice to create a uniquely queer and unholy ruckus. Jessye’s latest album Glitter Up the Dark was produced by Aaron Lee Tasjan and incorporates Eighties pop and Nineties alternative flourishes to the Americana and country-rock sounds of 2023’s Renovations and her 2022 debut Landscapes\, which earned her a nomination for Americana Artist of the Year at the 2022 Boston Music Awards. \nNo Depression says “Comparisons to Elton John and Brandi Carlile are easy — DeSilva clearly takes a page from these idols\, anchoring [her] songs in pop melody juggernauts\, gauzy textures\, and vocal bravado.” Nashville Scene named her a 2023 Artist To Watch\, saying “DeSilva could inject new life into a genre that could definitely use a little more pretzel logic.” \nWe’re so thrilled to welcome Jessye back after her first stunning series appearance. This is a live show experience not to be missed!

SUMMARY:Kid Maestro ft. Bartholomew Jones: Ideas Are Seeds
DESCRIPTION:Kid Maestro ft. Bartholomew Jones: Ideas Are Seeds\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts\nSaturday\, July 25th\, 2026\nDoors open at 7:00 pm | Show starts at 7:30 pm\n$20 in advance (plus fees) | $30 at the door\nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE\n\nThe role IDEAS have played in Kid Maestro’s life and career have been divinely profound. However\, as of late\, he’s had to question the existence of the pillars that have existed in his life without him being consciously aware of how they got in his life in the first place. The IDEA can spawn the greatest change to an environment\, and ecosystem\, a family\, or a single life dramatically; just like a seed. So maybe in borrowing the language from and studying the world of seeds\, we can unlock the mysteries of the nature and purpose of IDEAS. \n\nKid Maestro is a Memphis-based producer and performer who uses music as a vehicle for vulnerability\, growth\, and deep human connection. Drawing from experimental hip-hop\, soul\, and cinematic textures\, his performances are rooted in a relentless commitment to pushing past fear\, doubt\, and perfectionism to bring an idea fully to life.\n\nBartholomew Jones is a Memphis emcee and culture maker working at the leading edge of Southern Futurism — a vision of Black Southern identity rooted in the conviction that God don’t make no junk. He treats hip hop as an agricultural product — something grown\, harvested\, and rooted in soil — a thesis that binds his music to the all-Black coffee supply chain he’s built through Cxffeeblack. His sound moves through blues\, jazz\, boom bap\, and electronica\, and his breakout “Coffee Black” — “no sugar\, no cream\, please\, don’t cover my dreams” — turned a hook into a movement\, a documentary\, a TEDx\, and over a million streams. His latest project\, Cxffee Makes You Black\, is the fullest distillation yet. Along the way\, the NBA and HBO have tapped him for projects\, 8Ball signed on as collaborator and investor\, and he’s shared rooms with artists like Propaganda — with VICE\, NPR\, Black Enterprise\, and Memphis Magazine on the record. He currently serves as Artist in Residence on the faculty at Vanderbilt University\, and is now building his next full-length project in Memphis’ Idea District in collaboration with Unapologetic and Cxffeeblack. Memphis raised him. He’s raising it back.

SUMMARY:Healing Breathwork Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Healing Breathwork Meditation\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts\nSunday\, July 26th\, 2026\nDoors open at 5:30 pm | Show starts at 6:00 pm\n$15 in advance (plus fees) | $25 at the door\nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE\n\n\nHealing breathwork meditation is a gentle approach to creating space around emotional blocks stored in the body using the breath. This practice is easy enough for beginners and a great add-on for those who have yoga\, meditation\, bodywork\, and healing practices. Elements of sound healing will also be included to relax the nervous system on a cellular level. The workshop begins with a brief check-in\, a movement practice\, then breathwork while lying on the back. Please bring a blanket\, a yoga mat\, and an eye covering (a hand towel works well). \n\n\n\nRobin Bruce teaches healing breathwork and meditation as an extension of her multidisciplinary arts practice. Her foray into the healing arts began as a yoga teacher and bloomed into the healing arts after studying healing breathwork with David Elliott in 2016. Since then\, she’s become a 200hr ERYT\, with over a thousand hours of yoga teaching experience and a mantra recording artist under the name Dharampal. She’s also earned an MA in religious studies with a focus on ritual and spiritual practices to fortify political movements. She completed her MFA in creative writing and translation at the University of Arkansas in 2025 and currently lives in Fayetteville where she works as a bookseller. She views healing work as personal and communal and breathwork as a vehicle to grieve together and collectively dream new futures.

SUMMARY:Four on the Floor ft. Cyrena Wages\, Granville Automatic\, Erin Webb\, and Caleb Eliott
DESCRIPTION:Four on the Floor ft. Cyrena Wages\, Granville Automatic\, Erin Webb\, and Caleb Eliott\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts\nSaturday\, August 1st\, 2026\nDoors open at 7:00 pm | Show starts at 7:30 pm\n$25 in advance (plus fees) | $35 at the door\nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE\nMemphis’ take on the classic Bluebird Cafe format: a stripped-back evening of songs and storytelling featuring four artists in the round — both hometown favorites and visiting voices. Hosted by Cyrena Wages with special guest appearances. \n\nCyrena Wages fell in love with music on the country backroads between Millington and Shelby Forest\, two small towns just north of Memphis. Her father\, the hometown judge\, drove her to school every day in a 1967 gold Cadillac with the license plate “ROBN HD” on the back\, an homage to the underdog ideology\, and a conceptual through line of her debut 2024 album\, Vanity Project. Wages tapped producer Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price\, St. Paul & the Broken Bones) to helm Vanity Project\, a heavy hearted country soul meets indie pop confessional\, at his Southern Grooves Studio in Memphis. Upon it’s release\, Cyrena toured in support of artists like Lilly Winwood\, Hailey Whitters\, Maggie Rose\, Lucero\, and Chaparelle\, and debuted in spaces like the Troubadour\, The Bluebird Cafe\, SXSW\, and Americana Fest. \n\n\nBorn and raised in Natchitoches\, Louisiana\, Caleb Elliott is far from your typical preacher’s son-turned-musician. With his father a pastor and his mother the church pianist\, Elliott was immersed in traditional hymns from an early age\, but it was his love for classical cello that would eventually jumpstart his musical career. As a session musician\, Elliott began lending cello to all kinds of albums in the Lafayette music scene\, culminating in a moment that would change his trajectory and finally move him out of Louisiana. In 2014\, singer-songwriter Dylan LeBlanc met Elliott and encouraged him to relocate to Muscle Shoals\, Alabama\, where he still resides today. Once settled in the Shoals\, Elliott became the go-to cellist for an elite collective of collaborators such as Nicole Atkins\, John Paul White\, members of Alabama Shakes\, Maggie Rose\, and Cedric Burnside\, whose 2021 record I Be Trying won a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album. \nAs a singer-songwriter\, Elliott released his debut record Forever to Fade in 2019\, followed by Weed\, Wine & Time in 2023 (both via Single Lock Records). He has opened for a variety of artists such as Alabama Shakes\, Gaz Coombes (Supergrass)\, Sean McConnell\, Penny and Sparrow\, The White Buffalo\, Fruition\, and The Secret Sisters (who are featured on his recent single). In 2025\, he followed up Weed\, Wine & Time with two new singles\, “I Don’t Believe You” and “Slow Burn\,” in which sonic influences like Harry Nilsson and Louisiana’s own Bobby Charles can be heard woven throughout Elliott’s melodies and arrangements. This year\, Elliott continues releasing singles with his new song\, “Dead Ringer\,” featuring Andy Baxter of Penny and Sparrow.

Derek Brassel\, a seasoned session musician and touring bassist\, lends his deep experience and dynamic bass lines\, drawing from his time with the B.B. King All Stars and national acts like Everlast. T.O. Crivens Jr.\, an accomplished session guitarist whose latest work was adding guitar to a track on Anthony Hamilton’s Love is the New Black\, adds a fiery\, soulful touch to the trio’s sound with his explosive riffs and intricate melodies. \n\nWhether they’re crafting originals or reimagining classics\, Black Cream’s approach is organic\, raw\, and deeply soulful. Their high-energy performances and undeniable chemistry have made them a standout act\, proving that this Memphis trio is as rich and dynamic as the city that inspired them.

SUMMARY:Caroline Davis: Solo
DESCRIPTION:Caroline Davis: Solo\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts  \nFriday\, October 9th\, 2026  \nDoors open at 7:00 PM | Show starts at 7:30 PM \n$20 in advance (plus fees) | $30 at the door \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE \n\nCaroline Davis explores sonic textures offered by interactive technologies\, sharing sounds from the saxophone that she considers to be distinctive and quirky. Her solo performances are chosen spontaneously\, given the atmosphere of the room and the people present. \nShe makes use of Pure Data patches developed by the open sources community surrounding the Organelle (the technobear\, shreeswifty\, critterandguitari\, tony j morton\, nobuyasu sakonda\, soxsa\, varicela\, nicky-system\, samesimilar\, and chrisk). \nThe music during this performance will pull from Caroline’s recent solo album\, Fallows\, created during a time of rest on land in Ucross\, Wyoming. Bell hooks was a constant source of inspiration during this time\, through the following ideas: love as a practice of freedom\, radical openness\, maintenance of commitment\, using community as a means of escape\, belief in one’s capacity to transform\, what it means to listen\, and eliminating elimination. \n\n\n\n\nCaroline Davis is a Brooklyn-based saxophonist\, composer\, and activist\, whose work is driven by a desire for connection and a belief in music’s capacity to expand listeners’ ears\, minds\, and hearts. A 2025 Guggenheim Fellow in Composition\, she is the recipient of the DownBeat Critics Poll Alto Saxophone Rising Star Award\, as well as fellowships from NYFA\, the Jerome Foundation\, Chamber Music America\, and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. Her residencies include MacDowell\, The Jazz Gallery\, Civitella\, and the Rockefeller Estate\, and she has served as a mentor for New Music USA’s Next Jazz Legacy program. \nDavis’s work spans a wide range of creative contexts\, rooted in improvisation and social inquiry. She has released eight albums as a leader and collaborated with artists such as Allison Miller\, Lee Konitz\, John Zorn\, Angelica Sanchez\, The Femme Jam\, Miles Okazaki\, Nicole Mitchell\, Rajna Swaminathan\, and Matt Mitchell. Her most recent release\, Portals\, explores themes of grief and memory\, and she is also a contributor to Terri Lyne Carrington’s New Standards\, a landmark collection of jazz compositions by female-identifying composers. \nIn addition to her work as a performer and composer\, Davis is a dedicated educator\, teaching courses on gender in jazz at The New School and maintaining a private studio at the Manhattan School of Music. Her artistic practice is deeply intertwined with advocacy\, including work for gender equity through This Is A Movement\, and for current and formerly incarcerated individuals through initiatives such as Justice for Keith LaMar\, Freer Records\, Keys Beats Bars\, and Creative Beyond Incarceration.

He joined the faculty in the School of Music at Florida State University in Tallahassee\, FL in 2001 where he now holds a rank of Associate Professor of Jazz Studies. Jordan teaches jazz bass\, jazz combo playing\, music education classes\, and a jazz styles class.\n\nJordan joined the Marcus Roberts Trio in 2009. It was evident during that first official performance of the newly-formed trio at the prestigious Wigmore Hall in London that Jordan thoroughly understood Roberts’ unique trio conception. Rodney Jordan is one of the most versatile jazz bassists on the scene today. His tone is rich and soulful when he plays hauntingly beautiful phrases with the bow. Just as readily\, he plays fast virtuosic passages with apparent effortless skill. Jordan’s knowledge of harmony from his classical bass training combined with the relentless feeling of swing in his playing is a perfect fit for the powerful melodic\, blues-based\, syncopated improvisational sound of the Marcus Roberts Trio.

SUMMARY:Victory Boyd
DESCRIPTION:Victory Boyd\nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts  \nSaturday\, November 7th\, 2026  \nDoors open at 7:00 PM | Show starts at 7:30 PM \n$20 in advance (plus fees) | $30 at the door \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE \n\nA Grammy Award-winning singer\, songwriter\, and producer\, Victory Boyd has emerged as one of the most compelling artists of her generation\, blending gospel\, soul\, folk\, and spiritual reflection into a sound that feels both timeless and profoundly intimate. \n\n\nVictory Boyd is a musical storyteller whose raw\, soulful and deeply spiritual songs feel like prayers. Raised in Detroit to a family of nine musicians\, her sound blends gospel\, jazz\, folk\, and R&B with cinematic atmosphere and divine intent. After performing with her siblings to New York City audiences and gaining viral recognition\, she and her family were signed by Jay-Z to Roc Nation in 2017. However\, it was clear Victory’s voice had the strength to stand on its own. \n\nHer debut solo album The Broken Instrument (2018) showcases her artistry and won her acclaim\, leading to collaborations with Kanye West (Jesus Is King) and serving as the opening act for Lauryn Hill\, among others\, on their respective tours. Her 2023 album Glory Hour merges tradition with modern textures and reflective lyrics\, proving that spiritual music doesn’t need to follow the rules to carry divine weight. Her upcoming project dives into themes of love\, grief\, and healing\, allowing her versatility as a writer to shine. With every release\, Victory pushes genre boundaries\, aiming to stir the soul and leave a lasting emotional impact.
