DESCRIPTION:Crosstown Arts presents the Jazz Jam Session: Hosted by Alex Upton Quartet in The Green Room. \nThe Green Room at Crosstown Arts\nTuesday\, November 19\, 2024\nDoors open at 7 pm | Show begins at 7:30 pm\nTickets: $7 | Free for performing musicians \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE \nFor both the house band performance and jam portion\, the set/jam tunes will be announced from the stage.\n\n\nAlex Upton is a saxophonist and composer with a deep-rooted passion for all music both old and new. As a jazz artist\, Alex has performed and recorded with nationally recognized artists including Rachel Therrien\, Rahsaan Barber\, Stephen Anderson\, Jim Ketch\, and more. In 2022\, Alex was awarded first prize at the prestigious North American Saxophone Alliance’s National Jazz Artist Competition. They have performed as a soloist at esteemed events such as the JEN Conference\, North American Saxophone Alliance\, and the John Coltrane Jazz Festival\, and have recorded on the Summit Records label as a member of the 360 Jazz Initiative Ensemble. Their work as a performer and composer can be heard most recently on their debut album release “Portraits of a Silent Moment”.
