DESCRIPTION:Crosstown Arts presents an exhibition of photographer Jamie Harmon’s Memphis Quarantine photographs.\n\nFrom March 13-May 31\, 2020\, Jamie Harmon photographed more than 2\,000 people at more than 800 homes in the Greater Memphis area to document life during the quarantine period of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Through portraiture\, the images document Memphis residents’ shared isolation anxieties and bonds renewed by survival\, hope\, and solidarity.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jamie Harmon: \nJamie Harmon is a Memphis-based photographer with decades of experience in documenting both found objects and human subjects through film and digital media. A visual anthropologist\, Harmon’s photographs have been featured in the New York Times\, CBS News\, Bitter Southerner and Memphis Magazine. His latest project “Quarantine Memphis” offers an intimate\, early record of life during the 2020 global pandemic through showcasing home-bound notable local figures and everyday Memphians. Through portraiture\, the images document Memphis residents’ shared isolation anxieties and bonds renewed by survival\, hope and solidarity. His other work includes an ongoing portable studio called “Amurica\,” a renovated midcentury Airstream trailer lit with bright\, whimsical props that help visitors come alive with color in the shutter. Grounded in an exploration of place from community to individual to object\, Harmon’s work breathes in a sincere interest in capturing human emotion and character as story. \nArtist Statement:\nThe Memphis Quarantine Project started on March 13\, 2020\, when I\, along with many others\, officially started distancing from one another. I thought I needed something to keep me busy but still be safe. I assumed this would only be for a few weeks and asked a friend if I could photograph them from outside their home. This led to posting an open invitation on social media\, and the project quickly grew to hundreds of people. I eventually reached over 1\,200 people on the sign up link before I had to put a freeze on it. \nFrom March 13 through May 31\, 2020\, I photographed over 800 dwellings and 2\,000 people with an average of 13 photoshoots a day\, each lasting between 15 -30 minutes. Leah Keys\, my partner\, sorted and scheduled all 800 requests by zip code and surrounding cities in the greater Memphis area with daily efficiency routes\, which made it possible to keep such a tight schedule. After the photos were taken\, there was still editing and sorting to do. Generally 8 hours of shooting would lead to another 8 hours of editing. So even though the shooting stopped at the end of May\, the editing continued every day until July. \nThe project was free for participants. Each home\, person\, or family received a private web link with edited images that they could download at no charge. Although many people donated to the project\, it was never advertised as a requirement in efforts to keep participation equitable.

With a bachelor’s degree from The Boston Conservatory\, she earned her Master of Music at The New England Conservatory and went on to study at Florida State University\, where she became the first woman in the world to be awarded the degree of Doctor of Music in guitar performance. She pursued greater proficiency with summer studies at the Banff Centre for Fine Arts and the Aspen Music Festival\, advanced training at Gargnano\, Italy\, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena\, and master classes with Andrés Segovia at the University of Southern California. \nSince becoming a tenured professor and head of the guitar program at the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music\, Afshar has received the 2000 Eminent Faculty Award\, and in 2011 she was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from The Boston Conservatory. She conducts master classes worldwide and has released six instructional DVD’s “Classical Guitar Secrets”\, Vols. I & II for beginner to Intermediate guitarists\, and six instructional DVD’s “Classical Guitar Collection”\, Vols. I & II for Intermediate to Advanced guitarists. Both are released with Guitarcontrol.com. She also produced a DVD entitled “Virtuoso Guitar”featuring live performances and an interview with Mel Bay.As a performing guitarist\, she has won a top prize in the Guitar Foundation of America Competition\, Grand Prize in the Aspen Music Festival Guitar Competition\, the Orville H. Gibson Award for Best Female Classical Guitarist\, and a National Endowment for the Arts Recording Award\, among others\, and she was chosen as an “Artistic Ambassador” to Africa for the United States Information Agency. \nWith her passion for going beyond the traditional guitar repertoire\, contemporary classical composers have sought after her for creative collaborations resulting in notable world premieres\, including works by Carlo Domeniconi\, John Baur\, Reza Vali\, Garry Eister\, Gerard Drozd\, Loris Chobanian\,Arne Mellnas\, Kamran Ince\, Barbara Kolb\, Marilyn Ziffrin\, David Kechley\, and Salvador Brotons. Most of these can be heard on her seven CDs. Her first recording\, “24 Caprichos de Goya\, Op. 195′′(1994) composed by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco led her to develop a unique multimedia concert combining performance and commentary along with visual presentation of Francisco Goya’s satirical black and white etchings which inspired the guitar pieces. She still receives special requests to present this unique program today. \nHer second recording\, “A Jug of Wine and Thou\,” (1999) was inspired by the famous Poem of Omar Khayyam and features arrangements of Persian melodies. Afshar was now attracting the interest of international composers and her third and fourth recordings\, “Possession” (2002) and “Hemispheres” (2006) feature a combined total of eight world premieres. “Hemispheres” reached No. 7 on Billboard Magazine’s Chart of Top Classical Albums in 2006 and attracted the attention of National Public Radio’s Robert Siegel\, who featured Afshar on “All Things Considered.” Next came “One Thousand and One Nights\,” (2012) which was recorded and released in Iran. Her sixth album and chamber recording\, “Musica da Camera”(2013)\, featured a world premiere by Russian composer Vladislav Uspensky in addition to compositions by Niccolo Paganini and Astor Piazzolla. Her latest album\, “Bach on Fire” (2014)\, highlights a completely unique and intricate approach to J.S. Bach’s guitar compositions. The arrangements on the album were taken from her book with Mel Bay’s Essential Bach: Arranged for the Guitar by Lily Afshar. \nAfshar’s Persian heritage has given rise to some of her greatest musical innovations. Born in Iran to a musical family\, she has drawn from Persian and Azerbaijani folk music traditions to create arrangements of works for the classical guitar which are as rich and beautiful as a Persian miniature. She arranged for guitar and published Five Popular Persian Ballads with Mel Bay\, and is presently creating a new collection of guitar arrangements of traditional Persian and Azerbaijani songs. She has also fascinated concert goers with occasional live performance on the seh-tar\, a traditional Persian instrument which evolved over many centuries into the guitar. \nA true citizen of the world\, Afshar’s concert touring has taken her to solo\, chamber music\, and orchestral performance venues inNorth and South America\, Europe\, Asia\, and Africa. As a sideman\, Mark Edgar Stuart has toured and played on dozens of critically acclaimed records\, including an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” \nWith little fuss or fanfare\, he became the go-to bass player for an elite group of record producers and artists. His no-nonsense style always played a supporting role that was close to the spotlight\, but not too close. \nCancer changes things\, and so does losing your father. When all of these things happened in rapid succession\, Mark took some time to heal and reevaluate. In 2010\, he put down his bass\, picked up a guitar\, and started writing songs he never thought anybody outside his family would ever hear. Masks are required. \nEighth Blackbird\, hailed as “one of the smartest\, most dynamic ensembles on the planet” (Chicago Tribune)\, began in 1996 as a group of six entrepreneurial Oberlin Conservatory students and continues today under the leadership of founding members Lisa Kaplan (executive director) and Matthew Duvall (artistic director). \nEighth Blackbird has won four Grammy Awards for Best Small Ensemble/Chamber Music Performance over its 23-year history and has become “a brand-name defined by adventure\, vibrancy and quality” (Detroit Free Press). It has commissioned and premiered hundreds of works by established and emerging composers\, including Steve Reich’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Double Sextet and works by Andy Akiho\, Bryce Dessner\, Michael Gordon\, Jennifer Higdon\, Amy Beth Kirsten\, David Lang\, David T. Little\, Nico Muhly\, Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez\, Julia Wolfe\, and Pamela Z. Through performances in its Chicago home base and at venues across the U.S. and around the world\, Eighth Blackbird has brought innovative presentations of works by living composers to tens of thousands of music lovers. \nThe ensemble’s extensive recording history\, primarily with Chicago’s Cedille Records\, encompasses more than a dozen acclaimed albums. Its most recent release on 37d03d/Secretly Canadian\, 2019’s When We Are Inhuman\, is a collaboration with The National’s Bryce Dessner and Will Oldham (aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) that features new arrangements by Lisa Kaplan\, who also co-produced the album with Dessner. Singing in the Dead of Night\, written for Eighth Blackbird by Michael Gordon and Pulitzer Prize winners David Lang and Julia Wolfe\, will be released on Cedille Records on June 12\, 2020. Other collaborations with some of today’s most well-regarded artists include heralded performers such as Dawn Upshaw and Jeremy Denk\, seminal composers such as Philip Glass and Nico Muhly\, and genre-fluid composers and performers Dessner\, Oldham\, Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry\, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver\, My Brightest Diamond frontwoman Shara Nova\, and Iarla Ó Lionáird of The Gloaming. \nIn addition to its Grammy Awards\, Eighth Blackbird’s many honors include winning the 1998 Concert Artists Guild Competition; pioneering a year-long residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art—Chicago in 2016\, during which the ensemble served as a living installation with open rehearsals\, performances\, guest artists\, and public talks; receiving the prestigious MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions and Chamber Music America’s inaugural Visionary Award; and being named Musical America’s 2017 Ensemble of the Year. \nThe members of Eighth Blackbird value their roles as curators\, educators\, and mentors. After studying classical guitar and composition at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in 1986\, he played local gigs in New York and fine-tuned his education with John Abercrombie. He earned a Bachelor Degree from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and a Master’s Degree at The Juilliard School. \nAfter working with several jazz bands\, he joined Blood Sweat and Tears in 1995 and toured extensively with them for the next three years. Since then\, he has forged his own voice as a modern jazz guitarist\, performing with a wide range of artists including Wallace Roney\, Stanley Clarke\, Mark Turner\, Branford Marsalis\, Randy Brecker\, Dr. Lonnie Smith\, Mulgrew Miller\, Fred Wesley\, Mike Clark\, Uri Caine\, The Allman Brothers\, The Yellowjackets\, and Gary Bartz. \nGuarna has toured five continents with his own quartets and as a top sideman in several exciting groups led by Lenny White\, E.J. Strickland\, and Les McCann. He was a featured artist on over thirty albums\, and composed “If You Dare\,” a funk-rock song on Lenny White’s 2010 Anomaly CD. Guarna also toured the United States with pianist Manuel Valera\, after playing on the Grammy Award-nominated 2012 album\, New Cuban Express. \nAs composer and leader\, Guarna has recorded: Get Together (2005)\, Out from the Underground (2007)\, Wingspan (2008)\, Major Minor (2009)\, Bittersweet (2011)\, and the hard-grooving Rush (2014)\, which garnered wide acclaim. His seventh album\, The Wishing Stones (2017)\, featuring an all-star quartet of drummer Brian Blade\, bassist John Patitucci and pianist Jon Cowherd\, was lauded a 4-star rating in DownBeat Magazine. \nTom Guarna\, a guitarist whom DownBeat magazine has praised for the “emotion\, tension\, surprise and passion” in his playing on Rush\, assembled what he calls “a dream team” for The Wishing Stones. The album\, his first for the Destiny Records label\, was released in November of 2017. The 11 hook-laced Guarna originals\, produced by the guitarist and performed with warmth and élan by his all-star quartet\, were masterfully engineered by George Shalda. It was recorded at Sear Sound\, the New York site of historic studio sessions for artists such as David Bowie and Wynton Marsalis. \nThe Wishing Stones was inspired by his accidental discovery of Aruba’s Rock Wish Garden\, a peaceful beach featuring stone structures that visitors have built over the years as totems. Guarna explains: “Each of these stacks of stones has a story\, representing the desires\, aspirations and memories of many people. I’d like my songs – my stacks of stones\, as it were – to have a similar resonance with listeners. That’s been a goal as I evolve\, to convey life’s emotions in music\, whether it’s in my writing or the textures I create on the guitar. I want to get to the heart of the matter.” \nGuarna incorporates many styles (jazz\, funk\, latin\, soul\, pop\, R&B\, world music) into his own blend of unique and engaging music\, as he forges ahead within his forte: modern jazz with a touch of classical influence.

The visual qualities of his artwork can be described as narrative paintings that depict African-American figures interacting within a diverse range of environments. \n“I believe it is my duty as an artist to create work that challenges the assumptions of the viewer.” \n\nBrandon Blvd’s objective is to empower the voiceless\, encourage the downtrodden\, and motivate the underdog through music\, art\, and soul. Brandon has a focus and mission of expanding the confines and depths of societal norms by embracing and experimenting with hip-hop. \n“Some yearn to share the same lanes as others. From 2015-2017\, they were named the Peak Fellowship Ensemble-in-Residence at SMU Meadows School of the Arts\, becoming the first quartet chosen for the fellowship. At the 2015 Coltman Chamber Music Competition (Austin\, TX\,) they received Second Place Ensemble in the Senior Division\, and in 2017\, they were named Semi-Finalists at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition (Columbia\, MO.) \nThe group has performed with the Fine Arts Chamber Players\, Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival\, Mimir Chamber Music Festival\, Music in the Mountains Festival\, Bridge the Gap Chamber Series\, Meadows Virtuosi Players\, Texas Christian University CelloFest\, Open Classical Artist Series\, Fort Worth Chamber Music Society\, and Ensemble 75. They have collaborated with artists such as Andres Diaz\, Matt Albert\, Aviram Reichert\, Lucille Chung\, Jonathan Tsay\, the Escher Quartet\, and the Altius Quartet. They have become frequent performers with the Avant Chamber Ballet\, which presents shows at the Moody Performing Arts Center\, NorthPark Center and throughout the DFW area. \nCézanne has a passion for collaborating with young artists\, and has coached chamber music students at Highland Park High School\, Greenhill School and the Music in the Mountains Festival\, in Durango\, Colorado. They also accompanied talented young soloists in the finals of the Ensemble 75 Concerto Competition. \nIn 2018\, Cézanne celebrated the release of their first album titled Retrospection\, which includes works by contemporary American composer Kevin Puts\, and the sixth and final quartets written by Felix Mendelssohn and Béla Bartók. The album was professionally recorded in the beautiful Caruth Auditorium on the Southern Methodist University campus\, and is available for streaming on Spotify. \nJonathan Tsay\, piano \nPrior to his appointment as Assistant Professor of Piano at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at The University of Memphis\, Jonathan Tsay served numerous roles in the music community including Head of Collaborative Piano at Conservatory Music in the Mountains\, Head of Piano at the Chloé Trevor Music Academy\, Presenter and Artist for Cliburn in the Classroom (which serves over 50k under-served 2nd-4th graders in the DFW area per year) and Artistic Director of Ensemble75\, a chamber music series based in the North Texas area. \nA sought after collaborator\, Jonathan has also performed alongside some of the world’s premier musicians\, including Chee-Yun\, David Cooper (Principal Horn\, Chicago Symphony)\, Jing Wang (Concertmaster\, Hong Kong Philharmonic)\, dramatic soprano Alessandra Marc\, the Cézanne Quartet\, and Nathan Olson (Concertmaster\, Dallas Symphony Orchestra). As a solo recitalist\, Jonathan has performed throughout the United States\, Canada\, and Taiwan. \nJonathan earned a Bachelor’s of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Carol Leone at Southern Methodist University and his doctorate at l’Université de Montréal with Marc Durand. \nJonathan’s performances have been broadcast on WRR Classical\, KMFA Classical\, and are featured in the companion CD to “Brahms – A Listener’s Guide: Unlocking the Masters Series.” Jonathan’s album\, “Harmonic Allusions\,” was named in the “Top 5 Albums of 2017” by TheaterJones\, and his YouTube collaboration with Chloé Trevor performing “Danse Macabre” has garnered over 1.3 million views.

The BBC declared it “one of the great albums of 2008.” JazzTimes hailed him as “a new visionary.” The San Jose Mercury News named his “Alive in Japan” release as their 2013 Top Jazz Album of the year. \nHe has released two albums on ECM including a solo piano recording and a trio record featuring Billy Hart and Ben Street. Parks has performed and recorded with Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Dhafer Youssef\, Terri Lyne Carrington\, Ambrose Akinmusire\, Gretchen Parlato\, Kendrick Scott\, and Marcus Miller among others. He is also a founding member of James Farm with Joshua Redman\, Matt Penman and Eric Harland. His latest project “Aaron Parks Little Big\,” hailed by PopMatters as “what jazz can be in the new century\,” released their debut in late 2018; the follow-up “Little Big II: Dreams of a Mechanical Man” was released in May 2020 to critical acclaim. Reager is a veteran of several TN-based touring and recording acts\, including Glossary\, Pezz\, Two Way Radio\, Snowglobe and The Passport Again. He has opened for heroes and appeared on MTV and released two critically acclaimed solo records\, but is in no way famous. In 2020 he launched a podcast\, network and label called Back to the Light\, and he has since finished a new solo album of his own (due later in 2022)\, and produced a new album for Memphis underground icons The Subteens.  \nHEELS \nHEELS is the combined effort of Joshua McLane and Brennan Whalen. A two-piece band from Memphis\, TN. They started as a stripped down acoustic outfit in 2015. Over the course of the last few years they have evolved into a fast paced electric punk outfit with a more heavy and melodic sound. Equal parts ragers and conversationalists\, HEELS writes pop songs for a dying planet. \nCORY BRANAN \nOver the last two decades Cory Branan has released five albums to much critical acclaim from NPR\, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone among others\, who called him\, “A country boy with a punk-rock heart.” He has toured extensively\, appearing on stages from Letterman and the Ryman to your town’s shittiest punk bar.  \nBranan’s songs have been covered by such artists as Frank Turner and Dashboard Confessional. He has also collaborated with the likes of Jason Isbell\, Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!)\, and Craig Finn (The Hold Steady)\, who have been included as featured guests on previous records. Branan has even been mentioned in the Lucero song\, “Tears Don’t Matter Much” with the lyrics\, “Cory Branan’s got an evil streak\, and a way with words that’ll bring you to your knees.” \nALICJA TROUT \nAlicja Trout is a Memphis-based rock guitarist\, singer and songwriter. She is best known for her work with the synth-heavy Lost Sounds\, which she started with Jay Reatard. Her current band\, the River City Tanlines\, were named an essential Memphis band by Spin Magazine in December 2007. Trout also owns and operates Contaminated Records\, her own independent record label.  \nGRAHAM BURKS \nGraham Burks is a multi-instrumentalist and producer who has toured and played with Pezz\, Sweet Knives\, Magic Kids\, Jeremy Scott\, Small Room\, Perfect Vessels\, Infinity Stairs\, Recoil\, and more. Graham released a new album with his solo project Loose Opinions in 2021.  \nMICHAELA & WILL FORREST \nMichaela and Will are a husband and wife duo from Memphis. As a duo\, they specialize in covering Southern soul and Blues. Their full band\, Rosey\, can be found on Spotify and Bandcamp at yesorrosey.bandcamp.com. \nJEFF HULETT \nMemphis musician Jeff Hulett started playing drums at 16 years old. His music is eclectic\, simple\, and always a tad surprising.

He began formal studies on piano at the age of 7 and at 11 taught himself guitar. Influenced in those early days by the folk revival blooming in Britain\, France and North America\, Bensusan began first to explore his own diverse musical heritage and then moved to the horizons beyond. He has literally created a style of playing with the ability to make a single guitar sound like an entire band as he brings the audience on a mesmerizing musical journey. And yet\, Bensusan is more than what any musician or music lover expects from a guitarist. He is a composer as well as a bilingual and original and improvisational vocalist\, with his own scat technique. \nImmortalised by the tune “Bensusan” written in tribute by the late Michael Hedges\, and referenced as an important inspiration to many other great musicians\, Pierre Bensusan is a one-of-a-kind artist whose music transcends genre and time\, with an uninhibited sense of musical freedom and expression\, a sense of something both playful and serious\, otherworldly yet right here right now. Masks are required. \nThere is a moment near the top of jaimie branch’s FLY or DIE LIVE\, the new album recorded by the trumpeter’s quartet in Zurich\, Switzerland\, on January 23rd\, 2020\, which feels like it bears the weight of both that specific pocket of time\, and a prophecy for all that was soon to come. branch and her Fly or Die crew — cellist Lester St. Louis\, double bassist Jason Ajemian\, and drummer/percussionist/mbira player Chad Taylor — had just kicked off the concert at Moods\, with the opening tracks off their then-new studio album FLY or DIE II: Bird Dogs of Paradise\, the second of which\, “Prayer for Amerikkka” is among the best political songs written during the Tr*mp Era\, and when the moment in question pops off. \nThe multi-part “Prayer” begins as a goth-blues stomp\, its moaning ghosts flying around the room. A week into a European tour and after three months of constant live performance\, Fly or Die is at home in this new song’s contours\, messing with its internal machinery while guiding its meaning. By now\, “Prayer” had gained a tough spoken-word intro\, bringing the context as it slowly gearshifts the intensity: “It’s a song about America\,” off-the-cuffs branch while the band seethes behind her\, “but it’s about a whole lotta places — ‘cause it’s not just America where shit’s fucked up…” Then arrives the climax\, at once site-specific and far-reaching: “…and it’s not always time to be neutral\, do you know what I mean?” The gathered Swiss crowd knows\, understands\, and responds vocally\, as Taylor’s backbeats cue branch to bring the trumpet to her lips\, and let out a high- pitched wail. Her horn doesn’t know what’s about to happen to our world\, and yet\, somehow\, it does — with only the catastrophic details needing to be worked out. For the next 12 minutes\, “Prayer” careens through its twists of wide-eyed racism and family separation\, Ajemian and Taylor driving branch’s punk-jazz Morricone horn line. “This is a warning\, honey…” cries the song\, and over the ensuing 70 minutes\, the band echoes its sentiment\, filled with glee and terror.

Scheidt School of Music. \nThe Sinta Quartet\, First Prize Winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition\, has earned praise from audiences and critics alike for its virtuosic performances\, compelling recordings and distinctive repertoire.  Hailed as “…a tight-knit ensemble exploding with power and virtuosity and an un-concealable ambition to connect with its newly found listeners” (Boston Musical Intelligencer)\, the Sinta Quartet performs entirely from memory\, which strengthens an already palpable connection with its audiences.  Named for its mentor\, legendary University of Michigan Saxophone Professor Donald Sinta\, the quartet’s additional competition successes include a Gold Medal at the 2018 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition\, First Prize at the 2017 M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition\, the Alice Coleman Grand Prize at the 2013 Coleman Chamber Music Competition and First Prize in the 2012 North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition. \nSinta Quartet’s repertoire is diverse\, ranging from commissions by today’s emerging composers to standards from the saxophone quartet literature to transcriptions by master composers such as Dvorak\, Schubert and Shostakovich. In 2019 they released their debut recording\, Collider\, on CAG Records featuring new works for saxophone quartet. In 2011\, The group gave the World Premiere of Bolcom’s own transcription of his Concerto Grosso with Concert Band\, joining the University of Michigan Symphony Band in 2011 for performances at Los Angeles’ Walt Disney Concert Hall\, Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts and the Shanghai Conservatory.  The quartet’s subsequent concerto recording garnered praise: Audiophile Audition declared them “superb musicians” and American Record Guide called it “the highlight of the album.” They have also made radio appearances on New York’s WQXR and Interlochen Public Radio\, and is featured frequently on American Public Media’s Performance Today. \n​Recent career highlights include Sinta Quartet’s New York recital debut at Weill Recital Hall\, Purdue University Convocations\, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts\, Chautauqua Institution\, Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival\, Rockport Chamber Music Festival\, Music from Angel Fire\, and in Michigan at the Great Lakes Music Festival the Detroit Institute of Arts.  Among the ensemble’s extensive educational outreach activities\, they recently enjoyed extended residencies for Joplin Pro Musica (MO) and Anchorage Concert Association\, both culminating with performances as part of their season series. \nFeatured international appearances include recitals in Palma de Mallorca\, Spain; Strasbourg\, France (for the 17th World Saxophone Congress); St. Andrews\, Scotland (as part of the 16th World Saxophone Congress); Paris\, France; Geneva and Montreux\, Switzerland; and Thessaloniki\, Greece; as well as a trip to Japan as one of a select group of ensembles chosen for the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition. \n​Equally committed to education and community engagement\, the quartet has presented clinics and performances at numerous colleges and universities including the University of Michigan\, Michigan State University\, Eastman School of Music\, the University of Delaware\, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst\, SUNY-Potsdam’s Crane School of Music\, and many others\, as well as a residency at Grand Valley State University. The brothers developed a very unique musical connection\, which is on full display in their live performances.
