She’s shared the stage with various critically-acclaimed artists and songwriters\, including Lucinda Williams\, Jessi Colter\, Tab Benoit\, The War and Treaty\, and more. \nOne of Teneia’s most prominent pieces\, “Stand\,” earned a placement in the HBO documentary\, “Prom Night in Mississippi.” “Stand” embodies Teneia’s ability as an artist to address deeply rooted social issues fearlessly and confidently. The album showcases his tasteful instrumental arrangements of a selection of classic compositions from the songbook of the great Stevie Wonder.\n\nJames Austin Jr is an accomplished jazz pianist and bandleader who hails from Chicago\, IL. He has honed his craft under the tutelage of a number of legendary jazz musicians including extensive study with Barry Harris\, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz educators of all time. James’ musical achievements include being honored as a featured performer and semifinalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition. As a jazz artist\, Alex has performed and recorded with nationally recognized artists including Rachel Therrien\, Rahsaan Barber\, Stephen Anderson\, Jim Ketch\, and more. In 2022\, Alex was awarded first prize at the prestigious North American Saxophone Alliance’s National Jazz Artist Competition. They have performed as a soloist at esteemed events such as the JEN Conference\, North American Saxophone Alliance\, and the John Coltrane Jazz Festival\, and have recorded on the Summit Records label as a member of the 360 Jazz Initiative Ensemble. Their work as a performer and composer can be heard most recently on their debut album release “Portraits of a Silent Moment”.
