This free community screening\, presented in partnership with WKNO\, offers audiences the opportunity to experience the film on the big screen while engaging in thoughtful discussion about the enduring legacy of America’s fight for independence. \nA conversation will take place before the film\, featuring G. Wayne Dowdy\, a leading Memphis historian and archivist whose work has helped preserve the city’s rich cultural and political history. \nDowdy serves as Senior Manager of the Memphis Public Libraries History Department and has authored multiple books on Memphis history. Recognized by the Tennessee Historical Commission for his contributions to archival preservation\, Dowdy is a respected voice on the intersections of local history\, government\, and civic identity.
