Jade will discuss the many facets of being a professional actor\, both on set and off\, including how to market yourself\, identifying your type\, how to get an agent\, audition taping\, budgeting for your career\, and more. Whether you are an actor or a filmmaker looking to learn more about the actor’s process\, you don’t want to miss this presentation. \nDoors at 6:30 pm | Presentation at 7 pm\nFree and open to the public \nJade Abrielle is a Memphis native\, known for her raw and powerful vulnerability in dramas and dry sarcasm in comedies. She is represented by Kathleen Schultz Associates.  She lived in Atlanta for six years while pursuing her Bachelors in Mass Communications and Film Production from Clark Atlanta University. During her years in Atlanta\, she appeared in commercials\, web-series\, independent films\, and television shows such as Discovery ID’s “Homicide Hunter” and TV One’s “Justice By Any Means.” \nSince returning to Memphis\, she’s made her debut on the Hattiloo Theater stage. She just wrapped a TV pilot for BET and is currently working on an indie feature and a short film. She’s looking forward to participating in more projects in her hometown. “My mission as an artist is to create work that helps heal the human spirit\, evolve the thought process\, and ultimately inspire change within myself and others.” \n\nShoot & Splice is presented collaboratively by Indie Memphis and Crosstown Arts.

DESCRIPTION:Alex Greene & the Rolling Head Orchestra will present new musical scores for two silent science-fiction classics — A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la Lune)\, France\, 1902\, directed by Georges Méliès and based on the novel by Jules Verne AND Aelita: Queen of Mars (Аэли́та)\, Soviet Union\, 1924\, directed by Yakov Protazanov\, based on the novel by Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy. \nConsidered by many to be one of the greatest and most influential silent-era films ever made\, A TRIP TO THE MOON has turn-of-the-20th-century astronomers taking a proto-rocket to the moon and back to Earth. While on the moon\, they are attacked and captured by moon natives who turn out to be surprisingly easy to kill and out-maneuver. In a similar tale of Earthmen hurling themselves into the void of space\, AELITA: QUEEN OF MARS is a Russian silent film about a man who leaves his boring Earth wife behind to go to Mars and lead a revolution with the help of a Martian Queen named Aelita. These two silent-era classics will be live-scored by Alex Greene and The Rolling Head Orchestra! \nSoundtrack by Alex Greene\, 2019 resident composer at Crosstown Arts. Performed live by the Rolling Head Orchestra: Marc Franklin\, trumpet; Tim Goodwin\, bass and tuba; Alex Greene\, keyboards; Tom Lonardo\, drums; Jim Spake\, clarinets and saxophones; John Whittemore\, pedal steel\, vibrophones\, and guitar. SUMMARY:Crosstown Arthouse presents Time and Place
DESCRIPTION:Lee Moses (1941-1998)\, a music prodigy\, is considered one of the greatest unknown musicians among Baby Huey or Sixto Rodriguez (Sugar Man). He was part of a soul scene in Atlanta between the ’60s and the ’70s. His one album\, Time and Place (1971)\, did not take off. During his time in New York\, Moses played with greatest\, including Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. His music has now garnered a community of appreciation. Songs such as “Bad Girl” was used in the 2014 French film House of Tolerance\, and “If Loving You Is A Crime” was used in 2013 American film The Teacher. What makes his story remarkable is there’s not much to be found on Lee Moses. Even in his hometown of Atlanta\, there are no physical traces of him.
